Riders by Jilly Cooper - First Edition

Starting out as a journalist, Jilly Cooper is perhaps now more well-known for her romance works which interweaves a cast of rich, back-stabbing, promiscuous, and dramatic characters (to just scratch the surface).

‘Riders’ is part of a collection of Cooper’s romance works called the ‘Rutshire Chronicles’, which involves a similar host of characters and locations and ties them all together in multiple novels.

‘Riders’ – the first book in this series – ‘takes the lid off the tense, glamorous and often heroic world of international show-jumping’, as the dust jacket advertises, to create ‘a multi-stranded love story’ full of drama.

Our copy is also very special as it is a first edition from 1985, published by Arlington Books.

A subsequent book in the ‘Rutshire Chronicles’ called ‘Rivals’ was made into a successful TV series by Disney+ in 2024. ‘Riders’ features the character Rupert Campbell-Black and tells the story of his show-jumping life before being involved in television.

This book is perfect for lovers of messy relationships, rich, interwoven plotlines, bold characters, and a whole load of drama. It is being sold for £75.
