The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells - Folio Society

ree

The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells is a cornerstone of science fiction, dystopian and fin-de-siècle literature, written by one of the most prolific writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

A serialised version of The War of the Worlds was released in 1897, but the following year, in 1898, William Heinemann published the complete novelised version of Wells’ end-of-the-world story.

The book itself is set in the south of England, specifically in Woking, Surrey and London – so it cuts very close to home to our shop! The edition that we are selling in is a hardback special edition, published by the Folio Society in 2017. It is filled with full-page illustrations by Grahame Baker-Smith and an intricate, gold front-cover design, all in great condition.

This book is the perfect collectable edition for fans of iconic science fiction novels, or any H.G. Wells book. It is sure to be a stand-out piece on any shelf and, with the fabulous illustrations, an immersive read. It is being sold for £60.
