The first book in the beloved Narnia series by C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is not only a landmark in children’s literature, but in many people’s childhoods as well.

The edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe that we are selling is a ninth impression, published in 1966 by Geoffrey Bles – the same publishers to release the first edition, first impression in 1950.

As with the first impression, our reprinted edition of this book is also illustrated by Pauline Baynes. Over forty black and white illustrations are scattered throughout the story, as well as a full-colour frontispiece featuring at the front of the book.

The book also has its original 1966 dust jacket (with the same design as the other first editions), however there are signs of wear, and also some tape residue on the front. Overall, the jacket is in good condition and hasn’t been price clipped. It is also in a protective plastic sleeve to preserve it further.

This early edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with its numerous illustrations and clean pages, is a great book to share with a family, or to add to any collection; it’s sure to be a treasured piece on any shelf. It is being sold for £200.
