In 1960, Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock (one of the most notable filmmakers and directors of all time), was released to the public. It was an instant success, and a seminal work for all film-fanatics and lovers of the horror genre – but did you know that it was based on a book?
A year earlier to Psycho (1960) being released, Robert Bloch published his book of the same name: it was the core text and inspiration for Hitchcock's film adaptation.
The book that we are selling in our shop, Psycho House, is part of the Psycho book series, which was written after the first book's (and film's) success. Psycho House (published in 1990) is the third book in the Psycho series, preceded by the second instalment, Psycho II.
But there's more: our copy of Psycho House has been signed by the person that started off the Psycho series, films and franchise: a slip of paper with Robert Bloch's signature is tucked neatly inside the first pages of the book.
For all fans of horror, Hitchcock's Psycho film, or Robert Bloch’s works, this book is a brilliant addition to any shelf or collection. It is a fabulous slice of horror history, tied up with the lore of one of the most iconic films and filmmakers of all time. It is being sold for £20.
