SOLD! Jane Austen Folio Society Box Set

For lovers of strong female protagonists, slow-burn romances, and sharp observational humour, Jane Austen is the timeless, well-loved author for readers young and old.

The box set that we are selling includes all six of Austen’s completed novels, and an additional volume with her unfinished and shorter works (such as ‘Lady Susan’, ‘Love and Friendship’, and ‘Sanditon’). The full length novels included in the set are: Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey. The latter two books were originally published posthumously and in one volume, although they are in two separate books in our set.

In 1958, the Folio Society published the entirety of Austen’s oeuvre in a seven volume collection; the edition that we have is a 1975 reset, but has the same introductory notes in each book by Richard Church, and engraved illustrations by Joan Hassal.

Each book in the set cloth binding around the spine in a classy silvery-grey, with golden gilt-style embossed lettering. The boards are multi-coloured with each volume being either in green, yellow, orange, red or blue with a vine pattern. They are in excellent condition.

This box set is the perfect gift for any Jane Austen fan, anyone wanting a complete and cohesive set of her works, or someone wanting to throw themselves in to the classics for the first time. It is being sold for £150.
