SOLD! The Dark Tower III and IV, by Stephen King - First Editions (The Waste Lands and Wizard and Glass)

Updated: 13 minutes ago

EDIT: These books have now been sold, but we have loads more Stephen King and horror paperbacks - pop into our shop or email us to find out more!

Legendary writer and renowned figurehead of the horror genre, Stephen King is a standout feature of any bookshelf – first editions of his works, particularly so.

The Dark Tower is an eight-novel series, where dark fantasy meets western, and we have two first edition copies of the third and fourth instalment for sale.

The Waste Lands is book number three in The Dark Tower series, and was published originally by Donald M. Grant in 1991. The first edition that we have in our shop is in mint condition with the dust jacket and still in its shrink wrap. Inside, there are colour illustrations by Ned Dameron and the book is made with a red cloth cover underneath the dust jacket.

Our copy of Wizard and Glass, fourth book of the series (published in 1997), is also a first edition. It is not in shrink wrap, but is in excellent condition, with its original dust wrapper and also published by Donald M. Grant. The illustrations inside are by Dave McKean and are interspersed throughout the book in bright colour.

The Dark Tower series (as described by Stephen King’s website) was ‘inspired in equal parts by Robert Browning’s poem, “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came,” J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, and Sergio Leon’s spaghetti Western classics.’ It’s definitely not one to be missed.

The Waste Land is being sold for £200. Wizard and Glass is being sold for £125. They can be sold separately or as a pair.

We do have other Stephen King novels of varying editions and prices in our shop, so please don’t hesitate get in touch if you have any questions. A lot of our Stephen King books are part of our horror collection – keep an eye out for another blog post about the horror books we have!
