Vivia by Tanith Lee

Published by Little, Brown and Company, London, in 1995, this original British hardcover edition of Vivia features an original illustrated dust jacket.
Tanith Lee, celebrated for her distinctive dark fantasy and Gothic fiction, weaves a dark and compelling tale set in medieval Eastern Europe. The story follows Vivia, a young woman whose life is transformed when she is claimed by a dark lord and made into a vampire. Subverting traditional fairy-tale conventions, the novel explores themes of desire, feminine struggle, power, cruelty and the gradual erosion of morality.
The book is bound in black cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, retaining its original illustrated dust jacket, which has helped preserve the condition of the volume.
It is near-mint condition. The internal pages are bright and clean, with no visible signs of wear to the book’s boards or dust jacket. The binding remains in excellent condition, making this a particularly well-preserved example of the original British edition.
This book is being sold at £80.
