The Meaning of Relativity, by Albert Einstein - First English Edition

ree

The Meaning of Relativity is a significant book that covers the iconic theories and works of Albert Einstein on relativity. The book was first published in 1922 by Methuen and Co., and contains the content of four lectures that Einstein gave at Princeton University in May 1921.

The four lectures are (in order), ‘Space and Time in Pre-Relativity Physics’, ‘The Theory of Special Relativity’, ‘The General Theory of Relativity’ and ‘The General Theory of Relativity Continued’. The text was translated by Edwin Plimpton Adams, which enables English speakers to read about Einstein’s most famous scientific theory as he would have taught it.

The physical book itself has a brown cloth binding and is in good condition: it has some foxing on the edges, and signs of wear on the front board. The title, with its golden styling, still stands out brilliantly on a shelf, even if the front title has no gilt.

Our edition of The Meaning of Relativity is a fabulous and iconic book for all those who are interested in scientific history, physics, first editions, maths, or books by famous people. It is being sold for £1,000.
