Now We Are Six by A.A. Milne (2nd ed.)

Now We Are Six by A. A. Milne was published in 1927 as part of the Winnie-the-Pooh series. The collection comprises 35 poems, with Winnie-the-Pooh and Christopher Robin appearing in illustrations.
This second edition was published by Methuen & Co. Ltd. in 1927. The volume features numerous black-and-white decorations by E. H. Shepard, including full-page illustrations that bring Milne’s much-loved characters and verses to life.
The book is bound in red cloth, with gilt decorations to the front and rear boards, gilt lettering to the spine, and a gilt top edge. It retains its original illustrated dust jacket, protected by a removable protective cover. The jacket is a muted beige, with navy and black illustrations of the characters on both the front and rear panels.
The original dust jacket is in good condition overall, with some wear and tear, particularly around the upper spine and corners, together with a very small tear to the rear panel.
The binding is in excellent condition, remaining tight and secure. The book is complete, with all 103 pages present. Internally, the pages are bright and clean. A neat handwritten inscription appears on the leaf opposite the title page, and staining affects the inner third of the title page.
A charming illustrated second edition of this much-loved children's poetry collection, retaining its original dust jacket, decorative red cloth binding and gilt detailing. Despite some wear to the jacket and minor internal imperfections, this is an appealing copy for collectors of A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard, enthusiasts of vintage children's literature, or those seeking a distinctive gift.
This book is being sold for £125.
