Anne Pratt’s Flowering Plants of Great Britain is the primary work when looking for detailed, intelligible descriptions of thousands of flowers from across England, Scotland and Wales, accompanied by colourful and intricate illustrations.

The set of Pratt’s work that we are selling comes in three volumes, all filled with hundreds of full-page, colour plates of elaborate drawings of flowers from Great Britain. The books are filled with succinct yet accurate descriptions of thousands of flowers, all with their taxonomical names, including classes and subclasses of a multitude of plants.

This edition was published by Frederick Warne and Co. in the 19th century and comes bound in a gorgeous green cloth binding, with gold titling on the spines and front boards. The spines are rubbed at the top and bottom, and the boards show signs of wear, but the inside pages are clean and readable, with only sporadic signs of foxing.

Any reader of these books will be delighted with the colourful illustrations greeting them every few pages and equally immersed in Pratt’s detailed descriptions. It is a great set for any collector and lover of all things plants, plates and flowers. It is being sold for £250.
