A beautifully bound edition of Collected Poems by John Masefield, published by William Heinemann Ltd. in 1925. The volume is bound in full leather, featuring an elaborately tooled design depicting an eighteenth-century sailing ship in red and white on the front board. The spine is decorated with ornamental tooling and gilt titling, complemented by a gilt top edge.

The collection brings together a substantial selection of Masefield’s poetry, including ''Salt-Water Ballads,'' ''Ballads and Poems,'' ''Lyrics from the Tragedy of Pompey the Great,'' ''The Everlasting Mercy,'' ''The Widow in the Bye Street, Dauber,'' ''Daffodil Fields,'' ''Philip the King'' and Other Poems.

The front endpaper features a University of Bristol bookplate recording the presentation of the volume to A. W. Smith in recognition of the Albert Fry Prize, a highly distinguished awarded to the top 5 performing undergraduate students. This institutional provenance adds an interesting historical detail to the book.

The volume exhibits some age-related wear, including light foxing to the page edges and preliminary pages, with minor scuffing to the spine. The remaining text pages are generally bright and clean, with minimal foxing. The binding remains secure and tight, and the book presents well overall, with its decorative leather binding retaining considerable visual appeal.

The book is being sold for £50.
